Description
“Life Is Fine” is inspired by the classic poem by Langston Hughes, but told from a quieter place — not from the jump, but from the breath before it.
This is not a song about despair.
It’s about standing at the brink and choosing to step back.
Not heroically. Not loudly. Just honestly.
Some thoughts are heavy. Some nights are long.
But being here — still breathing — is sometimes enough.
No drama. No angels. Just a man deciding to stay.
Life is fine. Fine enough.

Lyrics
I’ve been down by that river
Sat quiet on the side
Water moving like a whisper
With nowhere left to hide
I won’t say I never thought it
How easy it could be
To let the current take me
And blame it on the sea
But that water was cold
Cold enough to wake a man
Cold enough to tell me
“This is not how stories end”
So I came back breathing
Slow and unrefined
Not proud, not heroic
Just choosing to stay alive
You might hear me breaking
You might see me bend
But I’m still here, my friend
And life…
Life is fine
I’ve stood high above a city
Sixteen floors of doubt
Wind pressing on my shoulders
Trying to push me out
Yes, I’ve loved like it was gravity
Yes, I’ve hurt like it was truth
But falling isn’t freedom
When you’ve still got breath to use
It was high up there
High enough to see
All the foolish ways
Love was teaching me
So I stepped back slowly
Let the ledge decline
No angels, no drama
Just a change inside
You might hear me holler
You might see me cry
But you won’t see me give in
Not this time
Life is fine
So if I walk that river
Or stand that height again
I’ll remember breathing
Before I count to ten
You might hear me breaking
That’s part of the design
I’m not untouched by darkness
I just don’t let it decide
Life is fine
Fine enough for mine
